When did u start to produce electronic music & when did u start djing?

I started to become interested in drum & bass after i saw marky playin in a club in the city i was born in, Rio De Janeiro, after this i was drawn to the sound in a big way, it was around 7 years ago, since then i've built up my record collection and took my first steps into dnb production.

What were the general musical influences & what are now?

For Identity, we take inspiration from the techno sound, we all have respect for Raiden, Cause 4 Concern and of course Kemal. all of us bring something from our musical past to the table when we make tracks, techno is a big part of our sound and i also produce techno tracks under Vinicius Honorio alias.

Give us a few info about how the IDENTITY band was born

It was around 2 years ago, when myself and jonny (cbx) was tryin to collab on a track, so john (dstruct) helped us with some beats, and then Identity was born. 1 more guy was added to the collective, shawn (korosiv), jonny´s ex flatmate. Braindead was definetly our first big release, when Chris (ex TOV) told me through AIM he wanted to sign the track to BARCODE we couldent believe it!

How many persons were involved in the project since it started & who are the actual members?

Till now, we already got released collabs with Sunchase and Prode and some we still work on with more producers. Members now are the same 4 guys, since we started, John "D-Struct", Jonny "CBX", Shawn "Korrosiv" and myself Vinicius "BTK". Everyone workin

How do u divide the functions in IDENTITY while you are livin in the different countries?

Although nothing is ever a routine, basicaly me and shawn will start new ideas, jonny records any vocals and dstruct engineers the tracks. All of our work is done over the internet, mainly AIM.

What are the next few forthcomin releases?

Yeah, this year is looking really good for us, Dylan just signed a track called Hell of Techno, which is forthcoming on Freaks sister imprint Obscene, this is a step forward that we're all very excited about, we also have more tracks comming out very soon on Venom Inc Recordings, a new label specialising in the darker techno edged sound of dnb, the one to pay attention this year. our Strong Bad track will be released very soon on Darkitek, a puerto rican label which is making some big noise in dnb. Flatline Recordings are going to release a CD based LP which i will mix for them, a project which im looking forward to!

What do u expect from your gigs in Russia? Its your first time you will be here

Techno Drum & Bass for the dancefloor, and yes , will be my first time there, cant wait to see the famous russian dnb parties.

How does IDENTITY European tour go? Is all ok?

Its awesome, im based in London - UK and just got back from gigs last weekend at Holland and Belgium, sick parties. cant wait for russia !
